Lake Maria State Park

Lovely, not-too-visited state park is quiet, has some beautiful trails, including some interpretive trails, some even with a boardwalk! It is due to this lack of visiting that my friend and I were able to observe a beaver carcass that was being eaten up by beatles right by the trailside. It was just a pile of bones and fur – fascinating. A brief (due to the heat) but nice visit.
