    Worth visiting!

Just one more thing to see down in that part of Florida. Nice little tour, and if you want to see alligators… they are everywhere!!! Almost too close to the trams to be comfortable. The tower is a hike and interesting to see lots more alligators but to realize how flat and how much nothing but Florida wilderness is out there. At the end of the tour we passed real close by to the sawgrass… and out the window I was going to just run a piece through my fingers to get the feel of it; don’t try that! They call it saw grass for a reason, and that is because it is as sharp and just like a real SAW! I could have done some serious damage to my fingers.

    Worth visiting!

This is a great way to spend the day. Bikes are available for rent, but you’ll want to bring your own, as well as a bag lunch. There are trams which will drive you to and from the observatory, but riding a bike is the way to go! The wildlife is all around you, it is a wonderful experience. In total the loop is about 15 miles. The first half of the trail (the west section) from the parking lot to the observatory is nice because there are a bunch of alligators, turtles, birds, and lots of trees. The second half of the trail (the east section) from the observatory to the parking lot is great because there aren’t as many plants and your view is pretty much unobstructed. There are less people on that part of the trail, which is great; but, there is less wildlife too. No matter what you decide to do here, this is something everyone should experience.

    Worth visiting!

and there were gators everywhere! Hubby and I had to keep dodging them on the road.

Well worth it! It’s a great way to spend a day out in Florida.
