Worth visiting!
The last time I went to this place
I ate a breakfast picnic on the beach at dawn.

Worth visiting!
On Monday I sat near the top of the beach...
...and let my mind drift and drift again. It was just what I needed, there and then—my place and my heart.

Carmel Beach holds much of my heart
It is, perhaps, above all else where I go to simply feel away from everything. Which is odd, because it’s not like I’ve ever been there without people—even at its loneliest there’s a small group of similar souls up and down the beach. But we’re all drawn there for the same reason, to contemplate nature at perhaps its finest, to thank heaven or the fates or whatever that we were there to enjoy it, and to feel at ease despite everything else in the world. Having been able to share this spot with others has always been a prime joy.
