On Friday night of Comic-Con weekend (2006), we got to hang out with the Kingdom of Loathing crew. They wanted to find a tiki bar, and my girlfriend knew about this one, though she’d never been to it. We all went, and we were glad.
Nice place, though a little pricey and kind of meat-market-y. The drinks and the food were outstanding. I got something I believe was called a Boba Chai Chai, some kind of cross between bubble tea, chai, and something very, very alcoholic. A parade of excellent Pacific-style appetizers and entrees passed through our table in a blur. Jick and his table partners got some kind of dessert featuring little dessert cups in an artsy metal tree (a picture will explain it better; I hope to post that here).
All in all, a fun evening!
