And in the end one of the smartest things about the design of the place. While UCI rambles seemingly endlessly, keeping the center of the campus being this, as time has continued, quite lovely park has been one of the joys of being here all these years. It’s just chaotic enough (intentionally so, of course!) but the winding of the paths and the rise and fall of the various points around and through the park gives it some character beyond the outlines of the original design. It’s great for lunchtime walks and I value it highly for that reason.
