Koktebel

Koktebel is in fact as nasty as any other place, whose only soul seems to be the beach. But there is some more to see: The nudist´s beach, on which quite the half is really naked. Of course you should not miss Volshins house. A tour is provided, but the guide (in good old russian tradition) is very emotinally telling you nothing. So don´t go there, if you want to know something about literature.
More interesting is this house in respect to the “Crimea gepoetic club” (Krymskij geopoetičeskij klub), founded by Igor Sid(orenko), which covers a lot of interesting an famous artist of all genres. Check liter.net for more information in russian.
The most interesting is without doubt the Karadag – National Park. Mor information in 43places under Karadag.

On the picture you see the eastern end of the Karadag-mountains, which gave the seetlement (in the background) his name: Koktebel. Wheater it means “Blue stone” or “Eastern stone” ist not clear since Kok is in turkish “Blue” and “East”.
