Why I recommend this place to visitors

True native here! Being born in the 80’s and raised from Oxnard, I’ve see the ups and downs that this place has gone through. Vast farmlands are being destroyed in place of real estate and there’s more people and traffic now then before. But despite that, the location is wonderful for the many activities you’re into. Ventura County is right in the middle of almost everything!

You can:
check out Main Street Ventura for it’s relax atmosphere, local bars, clubs and shopping; head over to the Camarillo Premium Outlets for some discount shopping; head over to Oxnard for the annual Strawberry Festival that occurs every May or visit one of the many beaches for some surf and sand; cruise the Pacific Coast Highway; go hiking in the mountains and check out the wonderful view of the ocean from the top; visit one of the islands we have off coast; get some fresh fruit and vegetables at a local farmers market or grab some fresh fish from the harbor…

And this list is just a handful. There’s so much more to do but it’s also very relaxing and quiet too. If you need to get away for a little while, check out Ventura County. Plus from Oxnard, you’re only an hour away from Los Angeles/Santa Monica or Santa Barbara so you’re never too far from the big city.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Ventura County is a hidden gem. It’s just outside of LA, yet there’s a distinct difference in lifestyle. Lots of hiking, beaches (totally uncrowded), funky main street (Ventura), beautiful harbors with alot of water activities (kayaking, day trips to the Channel Islands).

Close to Santa Barbara and Malibu. All the amenities of large cities without the crowds and traffic. Also alot of agricultural areas and old-school farm towns like Fillmore and Santa Paula. So glad I live here!
