And I’m a bit of an art museum snob, having visited some of the best museums in Europe. I’ve been visiting LACMA since I was a child – saw the King Tut exhibit there the first time it visited (and took my son to see it last year), took school field trips there, and countless visits with my mother. It’s a great museum – they have some lovely paintings (including one of my all-time favourite paintings, the “Magdalen With the Smoking Flame” by Georges de la Tour). Plus, they have a great collection of art and artifacts from around the world – statues of gods and goddesses from Asia, that sort of thing. While you’re there, make a day of it and visit the LaBrea Tar Pits and Page Museum, which are also wonderful.
