Southwark Cathedral

whenever you need to escape the ratrace, you must go here. It will calm & fill you with a sense that everything is ok. And apart from that, it’s beautiful!

Cornered between Borough Market, London Bridge and the row of office buildings on the Thames waterfront, Southwark Cathedral is very seldom seen by visitors. This is a shame as this building, part of which dates from the twelfth century, is in my opinion one of the most beautiful in London. It has a majesty and beauty on a par with St Paul’s and Westminter Abbey, while keeping a human scale.
