I’m not a big fan of J+R, but when I need something last minute, they’ll have it in stock. You can check their prices in advanace online, and they do often have bargains. The store is pretty chaotic on the weekends, and the staff ranges from helpful to curt. My mom really hates the place because after Sept. 11th, they kept everyone away from the windows and when she wandered over someone barked at her and shooed her away.

I’d rather go to J+R than a chain store, but B+H in midtown carries a lot of the same stock with better service.
