Worth visiting!

I love this building

This building is the ferry terminal for ferries to Governor’s Island. It was built in 1908 and is currently undergoing renovation. If you think it’s a beautiful building in front, you’re going to love the rear (where the ferries dock). The glazing above the docks resembles a captain’s cabin on the rear of a masted sailing ship. I think of it as a having both art nouveau and beaux arts stylistic points because of the colour scheme, column and arches and I love the industrial looking exposed iron rivets which remind you that the building has a real utilitarian purpose—transportation!
