Houston Heights aka: The Heights

.. it might not count as a visit, necessarily. I moved here about a month and a half ago from Montrose, and I’ve lived in SW Houston, so this would be my favorite place so far. If you have to be in Houston, this place seems the most interesting, in my opinion. Lots of independent, locally owned businesses, pretty neighborhoods to walk in, coffee shops and a beautiful library and I’m happy.

This is the original neighborhood of Houston. Originally, people settled in Houston and lived around the city center, but outbreaks of cholera and malaria drove them to build homes on higher ground in hopes of avoiding the outbreaks. Hence, the “Heights”.
