Poe's Grave aka: Edgar Allan Poe's Gravesite

A must-see for any Poe fan.

There are 2 Poe Graves, the new one near the sidewalk and the original one in the back. If you are trying to catch the Poe Toaster in action, he’s in the one behind Westminster Hall, you can’t see it from the sidewalk.

i like poe’s stories and poems. and he died in his 40’s.

now i want to visit his grave.

Poe’s Grave site is pretty neat. At first I went to just see where Poe was buried, but apparently many of the founders of the area had found their resting place here. So there was a lot of background information on the history of Baltimore especially surrounding the SE area. The walk ways aren’t always clear but surprisingly it’s an interesting place to visit to learn a bit about Baltimore history. It is annoying there is a duck tour bus that runs right in front so you will hear random people using the duck whistles 2 or 3 times an hour. You will also find goth kids hanging around… I should have stopped one and made them say “never more,” but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
