Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

We went today, but had flown in on the very early Skybus flight, so my husband didn’t have the energy to tour the whole zoo. So I’d like to come back sometimes and see the whole zoo.

I thought it was odd that there is a charge for parking, considering the suburban setting, but the admission charge was reasonable, so I guess I can’t complain. There was a lot of construction going on for the new polar bear exhibit and water park (I think).

Actually, today was not worth it. They’ve changed the parking and they were having some sort of expo so the place was absolutely packed and parking was a nightmare. It was cool enough but give me the sweltering July heat where I can roam freely over this stroller derby with people standing stock-still in front of me as they slurp down overpriced sodas.

Sophie enjoyed seeing the animals and Will loved the carousel so I guess from their pov, it was worth it but I think we’ll wait to go back until a day during the week when it’s not so crowded!

There are a lot of other new things coming up at the zoo. They have an Asia exhibit and Sophie saw a red panda and knew right away what it was from reading her Your Big Backyard magazine. It woke up right when we were standing there and walked around.

Great Zoo! We went in April as one of my daughter’s birthday gifts! Had a great time! Out of all the animals we seen and love seeing the Kangaroo’s the most!
