Thonburi

I lived in Thonburi for a couple months in the Wong Wian Yai neighborhood while I taught English at the Wat Phonimit school. I love this area. It’s a great place for a walk. There is nothing geared towards tourists in this area, and very little English is spoken so if you want to really do anything you have to know a little Thai or have a Thai person with you. Thonburi is part of the Bangkok metro area but it is technically a separate city, it’s just the part of Bangkok across the Chao Praya river. It’s mostly residential neighborhoods. If you go to Bangkok and want to see what the REAL Thailand is like then take a trip over to this area.
