great park by danimatian

I don’t understand the entries below. This park seems great, I’ve spent afternoons there. The Dog run is amazing, even in the winter it’s not cold and the dogs can play. The path going up is rough, windy and icy but once you get to the dog run it’s surrounded by high rocks and my dalmatian loves it there.

Being secluded is not a BAD trait for a park to have… that’s the whole point of having a park like this, it’s to forget you are in new york for a while… but just like anywhere in the city you shouldn’t travel alone in areas without a lot of people or lighting when it’s getting dark outside.

I’m a little surprised at the entries here because I thought the park was beautiful, but I guess I didn’t venture too far, or at night, and had a big dude with me to play bodyguard.

I’ve come to play in Fort Tryon Park’s playground ever since I was a tot, i buried my kitten Lisa in the Broadway entrance, over the years its went from horrible and dangerous to clean and safe then demoted back a bit to being dirty. It is a bit deserted. You might see a jogger or two, maybe the old people sitting on benches doing their usual….(nothing)….you’ll see some ghetto kids smoking at night. Its just a normal low-class neighborhood park surrounded by new-coming high-class butt munchers bitching abouit it.

Though, i agree the park could use a big transformation. New benches, safer paths and a more friendly environment “feel”….

If you really look around you’ll find witchcraft things like wrapped pig heads un bushes. Deformed fruits. I found a headless rabbit in a tree trunk once. talk about CREEPY!!!!

I recommend you steer away from visiting this park until it has some change done on it – unless you’re laidback and dont give a shit about the stuff i said above – whats wrong with a little adventure?……

I just... don't like it. by Kristen

It’s very deserted and it just feels… unsafe to me. I did not feel comfortable walking alone with my kid. The paths are very twisty and very shady, making it hard to see what (or who) is around the next corner. Also, most paths seem to have at least some stairs, making it impossible to take a walk with a stroller.
