Maine Discovery Museum

If I stay at my sister’s for about a week or so I pick a day and my nephew and spend a day together. We leave in the morning and walk over to Hannaford’s buy Doughnuts and Milk then we sit at the bus stop and eat our breakfast while waiting fo the downtown bus. After we get dropped off at Pickering Square we walk over the the Museum and spend a couple hours messing around with the stuff they got for us to mess around with. Afterwards we sit on a park bench and eat lunch together and then walk back over to the bus depot and catch the Cape Hart bus and get dropped off at the Airport Mall again and then walk back to my sister’s apartment. Dylan (my nephew) loves it because I make it seem like it’s HIS day. Soemtimes we’ll catch the Stillwater (or Mount Hope) bus and go to Wal Mart so he can pick out a toy.
Anyway, the exhibits or neat and in the Storybook section they bring classic childrens books to life like Charlottes web and they have a room made to look like the one in Goodnight Moon. Three floors of discovery byoc (bring your own child) =P

So in june, I left school early with a friend… we got food at little lads and then went to the Discovery Museum. It was amazing.

If you have children, or if you are a curious child at heart, don’t miss this museum! This museum has many hands-on exhibits, like paper-making and a giant dam the children can crawl into. I also enjoyed the exhibit that allowed you to make dams and re-route waterways and see the effects of your decisions. This museum has a website for more information…plan to spend several hours here for maximum benefit! Lots of fun and learning, too!
