you owe it to yourself to see this place, I wish more of it were open to the public, you can sense the history in the rooms, I looked at the pictures and could feel the past.

I went today with my parents while they visit me in New York by cranberrygoddess

It was well worth it, even worth the crazily long queues and the sore feet. It was one of those few museums that didn’t present a mythical glorius past to celebrate patriotism. They actually told you what they thought it was like for immigrants going through Ellis Island.

2 warnings – 1 – the food is crap, eat beforehand

2 – i don’t think there’s any way around the crappy queues so just get over it and read a book or use your ipod or meet some nice young french man in the queue to kill the time
