This is one of my must-visits when I visit Pittsburgh, and I recommend it to anyone who is passing through the city. It is beautiful and very informative; I especially liked the Dale Chihuly exhibit, some of which has now become permanant.

It's been a few years since I've been here,...
but my mother still goes to at least one or two flower shows every year and sends me pictures. It is a beautiful place to wander in at any time of the year if you like plants and flowers.

I don't generally like botanical gardens
My parents came up to Pittsburgh for a visit, and this was high on their list of things to do. I obliged and went with them, and was definitely pleasantly surprised. We went during the Dale Chihuly exhibit, in which this incredible glass work was displayed mixed in with the plants and flowers. The different rooms in the conservatory show off such a variety of plants and themes. It’s definitely worth a visit, and I’ll probably go back again some time.

When I was little, we would sometimes go to the “flower house” (the literal translation of the Chinese word for greenhouse). It was full of strange and wonderful things, like actual palm trees, lily pads, and bugs that walk on water.
