Hangout for both locals and the expat community. Something in between the city and heartland experience. Not bad by all means, but I don’t think its on the “must-do” list.

I lived there from 1984-85 and the first half of 86. I have no idea how it’s changed since then. I did visit in 94 but even that is just a faded memory. Basically it was a shopping mall which we lived down the street from. My memories are the chickens the area between the houses (I think they were groups of 4?). The large drains. Getting my uniform for Dover Court. International School of Singapore. Michael Barnett. Lincoln Cole. Crashing the car. Getting chinese donuts. Kuay teow. The english pub. Trying to get comics so my collection wouldn’t die, and the second time there was actually a comic store. over 6 years agoOkay but not extraordinary by Shrouded_WanderlustI got here late at night so almost all shops were closed and what’s left were the cafes along the area..I could imagine what it’s like there in day time but little india impressed me more. However, it won’t harm to go and walk around in this area whils in singapore just to get the experience. The food was costly and it’s not more delicious than that in little india. over 6 years agoThis is where I live by ~**~mmm ~**~I grew up in little India area, got pretty tired of it, and always wanted to live in another area for a different feel. I have always been attracted by the bohemia feeling that Holland Village can offer; charming neighbourhood and a chic suburban feeling ;) You can find almost everything here, right from tons of interesting shops, cafes, eateries, restaurants, yuppies’ bars(e.g Eski bar-extremely cold bar where you do need to wear winter wear inside), to almost every NEWSPAPER and magazine of the world can be found here. over 7 years ago |
