Why I recommend this place to visitors

Norris Geyser Basin is probably my favorite place to visit in Yellowstone. It’s not one of the really big name attractions, but I think that it is one of the best.

  • It’s not as jam-packed as other thermal sites such as Old Faithful
  • There is a much greater density of geysers here than at most other thermal areas.
  • Several of the geysers in the Norris Basin erupt on a very frequent basis, some almost continuously. You’re virtually guaranteed to see an eruption while you’re there.
