I drove over 2,000 miles just to go back... — 1 year ago
Worth visiting!
I have been blessed with the opportunity to drive the Beartooth Pass twice in my lifetime.
A mountain range that reaches over 12,000 feet! Only open a few months out of the year.
It is the quietest place I have ever been. Literally. No planes, no traffic, no trains, no yelling, no radios, no tv’s. Nothing human except your own breathe.
I heard snow cracking, birds, marmots…and even a screaming badger once! He scurried under a rock into his den as we walked by.
Patches of snow to go play in (in the middle of summer!). A view that will haunt you forever and a serene feeling that reminds you of how small you really are! I stood at the edge of a mountain cliff absorbing the view before descending back down into the town of Red Lodge.
It is an accessible place! You have to go in the summer! It is somewhat centrally located (in the US) and so close to the Grand Tetons, Glacier National Park and Yellowstone you’ll have lots of reasons to visit the area!
Go experience mountain BLISS!
