When I was in fourth grade, and I lived in Maryland, I had to do a report on three women of the state. One of the three I chose to do was St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. As part of the report we visited the shrine. My mom was a Catholic convert, but at the time had not really had a conversion of the heart. After visiting this shrine, however, and learning about St. Elizabeth, her life was completely changed and she became a very active Catholic!

Why I recommend this place to visitors
I’m a student at Mt. St. Mary’s University which is literally maybe two minutes away from the shrine. The shrine is beautiful. There is a small museum dedicated to the history of St. Elizabeth and her Sisters. There is also a beautiful bascilica, not to mention beautiful grounds. If you’re into Catholic history, come visit the shrine!
