A tip I have about this place

Skip it.
What a huge waste of two precious hours in Hawaii.

I love hedge mazes so I wanted to go here. But the maze was the kind where it’s easy to get in and out, more of a scavenger hunt. We found 3 of the 8 goals then decided to quit and go get some of that hyped up ice cold pineapple juice. The line for juice (which is not free as the guidebooks make it sound) was way too long so we left. Would have liked to take the guided out to at least learn something while we were there, but by that time we were ready to get on to better things.

dole

The Dole Plantation has the world’s largest maze. I thought it was going to be one big maze that has a start at one end and a finish on the other, but it actually has several mazes once you enter. As visitors go through the maze, there are 8 “stencil” stations hidden throughout the maze. They stencil in a picture at each station and once they find all 8, they can leave the maze and find out how long it took them to get through the whole maze. Going through the maze can get tiring if you go on a hot and sunny day, but there is the delicious pineapple ice cream you can eat afterwards!

My wife enjoyed the hedge maze. More so than I though she would.

Mmmmm...pineapple

The pineapple was absolutely amazing here. I couldn’t get enough.

Awesome!

I was in Hawaii during Christmas 2005 and New Years 2006, and during that time, my father and I swung by the Dole plantation.

Inside they have the largest hedge maze in the world (see additional places within the Dole Plantation), a koi pond with rabid koi (you ought to see these things much up fish food…talk about feeding frenzy!!!), and the best soft-serve pineapple flavored ice cream in the world!

Def. a 2 thumbs up if you’re on Oahu. The plantation is free to get into, however if you want to ride on the train there is an admission fee.
