Worth visiting!

some friends just took me here the other day and i know it will become a new favorite. apparently, cafe vignole’s story is that a southern [soul food cooking] woman married an italian man – and this is their restaurant. thay have created a menu that brings these two types of food together in a delicious way. [my shrimp was on a bed of grits and polenta.] super tasty entrees with smaller, properly sized portions, beautiful salads, and their desserts are of the southern variety. we had red velvet cake [which i might just have to order a whole one for my next birthday…] but my friends said that some of the other cakes are even better.
the service is not exactly speedy – it’s just very relaxed. the owner was our server and we were pretty sure he was back in the kitchen cooking our food too.
and since they are still relatively new – they have lots of specials… on tuesday night they have super cheap glasses of wine [$3??]
