A tip I have about this place
I used to go to the quilt shows when I was a kid. Paducah swells to triple its population when the quilters are in town. Some of the quilts are really amazing, and the winners are always interesting. The smaller quilts often have the most interesting techniques.
It’s also a great place to people watch. As any crafter knows, we sometimes come up with, uh, creative clothing solutions and it’s interesting to see what kitsch ideas are perculating around out there. My family used to have a contest to see who could find the worst handmade clothing and the weirdest license plate [Quilt4U!].
