State Capal #4 by jasoncortez

Hit this one on a quick day trip while staying with a friend in Palo Alto. I must say not too impressed (sorry if you live in Sacramento). There was nothing really wrong with the place but I was somehow expecting more. Granted we only were in town for a few hours so maybe we just didn’t get to the right part. We did go to the downtown plaza, a pretty basic downtown but with a Hard Rock Cafe, and “Old Sacramento”. “Old Sacramento” was kind of neat but fairly small I was also a little bummed that all of the really cool old buildings were nothing more than trinket shops.

All in all I’m glad that we went but am also glad that I only went a couple of hours out of the way to do it, anything more and I would have felt like we wasted a lot of time.

It can be fun by Haute

There’s a lot of interesting shops to catch at Old Town. If you do go, definitely go during the day. I’ve only been there twice at night.

Once was to an event at Scratch 8, some club, while walking back at night i saw two people being chased by a mob of people. not sure what transpired, but I knew it wasn’t something I wanted to stick around and watch.

Another time I went with my friends on a Friday night. We were under 21 at the time, so we couldn’t get into the clubs. Which was all that was open and available to see.

Just walking around, there were a lot of questionable people staring us down, sizing us up. Luckily we looked tough, so nothing came of anything, but we didn’t waste anytime getting back and driving away. The worst part was it cost us five dollars in parking, and there wasn’t any fun to be had.

The best place I went to in Old Sacramento was the Village Hat Shop… I got an awesome hat there. :D

Old Cowboy Town by johnglen

The place reminded me of Shanghai Noon… and some structures reminded me of Back to the Future 3. Most of the guides dress like the old times…were men have cowboy hats and women dress all prim and proper eventhough its 100 degrees outside. But for what its worth, its a must see if your into unique shops, cowboys, and guns.

So much fun! by secretsundae

Went here with family a few years ago. Had a great time. Stopped at the candy store and seriously spent $30.00 in candy. My husband still laughs at me for that. :)
