Don’t go when it’s humid, especially if you have kids. You’ll just get sweaty and cranky, and the animals spend the whole day sleeping. Visit the butterfly exhibit (it’s near the monkeys) and make sure you ride the train from Brackenridge park. over 6 years agoIts a great place by TCASTLE23Its a great beautiful place. But, it was small in a way. I still love the zoo from back home, “The Gladys Porter Zoo.” Just much more bigger. But, i would still recommend this place its peaceful and beautiful. over 6 years agoUntitled by Rhonda PerezI took my boys (9 and 11) in August 2006. We got a bit lost finding the place but it was worth it. It’s a beautiful zoo. The design allows you to walk through much of the habitat. It also provided quite a bit of coverage from the Texas sun. Main animal I remembered was this miniature lynx that was the size of your average house cat! It wasn’t overcrowded and prices were very reasonable and I definitely will go again. over 6 years agoUntitled by mandaluvsartThe San Antonio Zoo is a great family day out. It is reasonably priced and worth every penny. We have been going for the last four years and each year it is a diffrent experience. They are open year round, which is a huge plus on those long breaks with nothing to do. The children’s area is brand new 2005 and has a lot to offer, including a shallow swimming area with sand bar. I recommend this place to anyone with or without kids. over 6 years ago |
