Worth visiting!
Why I recommend this place to visitors
I went to the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival in 2004. Being from Ottawa, Canada, I was a little excited about the ice show – but not overly so, because we have the Ottawa Winterlude Ice and Snow Festival every year. I was completely blown away by the ice show. The ice show featured famous buildings from around the world. The pyramids of Gaza, the Colliseum and the Eiffel Tower to name a few. You could walk around on them but it was kind of dangerous because it was so slippery. Temperatures can drop to 20 below. Ever been in weather that immediately freezes your breath and tears to your face? It made for a very uncomfortable afternoon and evening. We finally decided to get in a horse and buggy to cuddle together for warmth. The buggies are cheap to rent and will take you around the area quicker. The driver will stop anywhere along the way. It was so cold that day that we couldn’t stay out for more than a few hours. We had to stop at tea huts every half hour or so to warm up. Plus, one of my friends had brought along a digital camera and the LCD display froze! Despite the cold, I had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this show to anyone. Just make sure you bundle up!
