USS Arizona Memorial

My father enlisted in the Navy because of the attack on Pearl Harbor. His first stop out of San Francisco, was to help with the clean up in the aftermath of the attack. I visited here in 1991, some 50 years after my father. This is a place everyone should visit.

the names bring things into perspective

I went here in Nov of 2001. I never realized that you can still see parts of the ship, rusted out though she may be, right up near the surface. What a horrible way to die for those poor navy guys!
