Worth visiting!
Reykjavik Botanical Gardens
We really enjoyed this park. It was a wonderfully warm day in late June when we were there and everything was so clean and green. Whoever keeps up the botanical gardens does a wonderful job. There is a cafe in the gardens that serves delicious food. Because it was such a beautiful day, we chose to eat outside and enjoyed see a little boy try his first taste of cavier. He chose to spit it out. We truly would recommend seeing the botanical gardens for anyone who enjoys a city park experience. It was also interesting to see the Icelandic plants, which are all labeled. If you have some time to kill in Reykjavik and the weather is cooperating, I would recommend going.

Not worth visiting!
A review of this place: Well.. Nice
Since this has been put here I felt like I should say something about this place:
This is, like every other botanical garden I can think of.. a nice place, and worth visiting. So.. If you want a nice park to spend a sunny afternoon in or something fine, but if you visit don’t expect anything spectacular.
If you are intrested in the flora and fauna of Iceland then you can seek out samples in the garden and the zoo next to it.
Personally though I’d still rather buy a good book and go and find these things in nature. (hiking preferably..)
On the other parks there:
Reykjavik Zoo And Family Park is a zoo of Icelandic animals. And is called the zoo of domesticated animals in Icelandic. It still has some animals which aren’t usually considered domesticated animals (like foxes, seals, sea creatures, reindeer and mink). But still, since almost all of Iceland’s animals were brought here by man, bears the name. As far as I know the fox and the mice were the only land animals that were here before man.
If you are going there with your kids and the animals don’t interest them enough then there’s also a small entertainment park there for kids. There aren’t any big “rides” there for adults though. (every thing safe and family friendly ;)
But there is an ice rink, a swimming pool, a spa, a gym and a tennis/badminton court there nearby as well, which are all as much fun for adults as kids ;-)
