Canton

and we travelled from Pittsburgh to Illinois once a year to visit them for my first 13 years. I absolutely loved my grandparents, and I loved Canton. It had several lakes nearby where we went swimming, and a great park, and a baseball stadium, and lovely big old houses with big front porches, and a nice town square with a great bakery that made the best cookies in the world. Its streets used to be lined with large elm trees, but they all died one year from Dutch Elm disease.

But all that was a long time ago. I haven’t been there since I was in high school. I’d like to go back and see what’s there now.
