Khao Sok National Park

After a hectic and disheartening stay in Bangkok, Khao Sok restored my faith in humanity. It is my favorite place in the world.

Very few tourists in comparison with the islands. This ancient rainforest is filled with beautiful limestone cliffs, morning mists, and rivers perfect for canoeing excursions. Well worth the trip.

I spent quite a few nights sleeping on a floating bamboo house on the water. Seriously, you practically never step on land. You also shower in the water… ok, maybe you can’t really call that taking a shower.

The of marine part of this park is simply amazing. I didn’t see the rest of it as we were only there for the day, but what I did see was incredible. We hired a rooster-tail boat driver to take us to a floating village. The ride took about 2 hours but it was some of the most unique scenery I’ve ever seen. Very, very, very worth it.

the water is a bit warm so we could jump into the water all day.. after jumping in the water, we climbed up our floating hut and ate and then jumped into the water again…. so much FUN!
