Be sure to check the signs and walk in the direction they tell you around the reservoir. We wandered into the park from 94th street and started walking around the reservoir, looking for the statue of Alice in Wonderland. Unfortunately, we were going to wrong direction and got some rude comments from the locals.

The Reservoir is one of my favorite Places in New York City…a calm space in the center of a frenzied metropolis.
The path that circles it is favored by dedicated runners year-round, and filled with both Locals and Visitors on sunny, warm days.
Its pumphouse is the setting for the climactic confrontation between Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier in Marathon Man.
