Old Rag Mountain

I grew up near Old Rag and I’ve hiked it countless times. It’s a great half-day hike. Once I hiked it with just myself and my boyfriend. When we got to the top we were doing the usual thing of jumping around on all the rocks like Mountain Goats. That’s what you do up there. My boyfriend made a little big of a jump. He landed it and all, but he was like “man that hurt both my feet.” He’s tough, but sometimes he likes a little sympathy. I, of course, told him to suck it up. We hiked back down the mountain. Periodically, he’d mention how much his feet hurt. I kept ignoring him…

A few weeks later he saw a doctor, and the doctor informed him that BOTH his feet had been broken.

This is still my favorite east coast hike.

Hell of a hike, I did it when I was in summer camp, I want to go back one day!
