Typhoon! Restaurant

When you are eating their delicious food, don’t forget to order their mango daquari. It’s absolutely fantastic and it cools down the spice from the food.

I went to Typhoon! with my grandmother, and as per NW 23rd style, it lived up to expectations. The Pad Thai was delicious…generous portions, lots of leftovers. The price was good as well. I would definately go back.

Lunch or dinner, this is the most consistent, sophisticated, and just flat-out delicious Thai food in the Portland area.

When you’re ordering, don’t miss Miang Kum, a build-your-own appetizer constructed from tender spinach leaves wrapped around a pinch of toasted coconut, minced shallot and ginger, tiny bits of diced lime, chopped peanut, dried shrimp and Thai chili… this allegedly peasant dish is an absolutely sublime combination of sweet, sour, salt, and spice, as well as a medley of textures. Impossibly good.

This dish may the single most exciting thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Correction: the most exciting food I’ve ever put in my mouth.
