Very Utah
The Beehive House and the Lion House are on a two-block area downtown called “Temple Square”. Since Salt Lake City was founded mostly by Mormons, this is a must-see. Everything there is free. Owned by the LDS Church. You will encounter missionaries, but they are agreeable and won’t bother you if you say so.

A tip I have about this place
There is a guided tour of this house, where Brigham Young once lived. The tour is very nice. But take my advice; at the end of the tour, as you leave the house, they offer you a piece of candy made from an old pioneer recipe. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT eat it. It tastes nasty. You will want to spit it out.
