New York City
A tip I have about this place — 2 years ago
Worth visiting!
From the New York Times: The original Lenox Hill was part of a farm that ran from what is now 68th Street to 74th Streets east of Fifth Avenue, and for that reason, the recently published “Encyclopedia of New York City” (Kenneth T. Jackson, editor; Yale University Press) places the neighborhood’s boundaries from 60th to 77th Streets and from Lexington to Fifth Avenues.
But most residents view the modern boundaries differently: because Lenox Hill’s post office and its service-oriented retailers lie east of Lexington Avenue, people who live near them have come to think of themselves as part of Lenox Hill.
Like the rest of the Upper East Side, the neighborhood is largely white, Republican and affluent. With its relatively low crime rate, abundance of schools and broad range of service-oriented shops, Lenox Hill is a magnet for young families.
