Dubai International Airport

Very very good airport. Beautiful. Free lounges everywhere. I saw people sleeping on the floors and in chairs with blankets and eye masks. Lots of restaurants, places to eat, etc. Alcohol is served in Dubai as well. Keep an eye open for free internet!

Dubai was one of my brief stop overs in my Brisbane to Birmingham flight.. wasn’t there long.. i had about 5 mins tops to get through the security/passport gate and run all the way down to the second to last gate.. got to the gate.. sat down for 2 seconds.. and we were being boarded.. thank f00k i made it in time.. but omg what a rush.. and amazing snapshot of the country and culture.. i remember.. sand.. and lots of it! .. ooh and the humidity too.

I was in Dubai Airport! Its big advantage is that it is placed right in the town. And you can reach any hotel you need very easy and fast! This is a very pleasant moment, moreover after a long flight! There are some good hotels right near the airport, but we have chosen Jumeirah. Our friends recommended it to us. It’s situated not in the town but on the beach. It’s an amazing place!

I went to one of these two airports on the way to Europe in 1989.

It is my only experience of the middle east, and I was 9 years old. It was hot and dry, and people wore long white clothes.

I’d like to go back now that I have a friend from/living in the UAE.
