Market Chef

I went on a 3 day bike trip on San Juan and Lopez, and the best food we had the whole weekend was at Market Chef right when we got off the ferry. I picked some copper river salmon and roasted vegetables out of the cold case, and they crisped up the skin for me (and gave me extra since nobody else wanted to eat the skin :)).

Living on San Juan Island has always been kind of a fish and chips culinary nightmare, despite the unbelievable local produce and meats that are produced here. Unfortunately, very few local restaurateurs source these items for use in their restaurants. The Market Chef has been in business for four years now and it has changed my life. To have everyday access to the best local, organic foods prepared in the most excellent manner has been incredible. The chefs are SOOOO talented and the locals here are so lucky to have this place. My suggestion to every visitor would be to eat every meal at The Market Chef. They also do the best event catering on the island with amazing food and impeccable service. The Market Chef is THE BEST!!!
