Hiking: February 16, 2008 by nicisixx

We (Heather, Chappy, Dalas, and Nici) went for an excellent picnic and sunset photo shoot. Heather made great sandwiches and veggie sticks, an chips and dip and we ate lunch at Whalers Cove. It was my first time to Point Lobos, I’m sad to admit, but it won’t be the last. I’ve seen so many photos of the place, from both famous photographers, friends, and students that I felt like I knew the Reserve already. It was well worth seeing in person.

We had this great view out across rocks with tide pools and the waves were crashing so that the spray shot up were illuminated by the rays of the setting sun. I took so many photos trying to capture the feeling, but I was struggling with exposure and timing and I never quite got the image I wanted.
