Placencia

It was devastating. I have strange memories of the last night I spent there before evacuating… Hanging out in places that were simply gone when I came back a week later, wondering what happened to people I met, who live there.

My favorite hotel that we stayed at was in Placencia. It is run by an retired couple from Australia and America, and they are really into food. Each day we’d do some activity, like diving or boating through the Monkey River…..and each night we’d go back exhausted and starving and have some of the most delectable meals. In the morning we’d wake up and have a yummy start. In fact it became our mission to try everything on the menu. We almost succeeded, I think we got through 80% of it. And I gained a good four pounds I think!

Beautiful area, had a great vacation, although I was looking for a little more night life then is available in Placencia
