I grew up in Houston. My Dad worked downtown there. I thought downtown was huge and scary and intimidating. I thought all downtowns were the same. It might have been scary because I was just a kid, though. It’s probably a perfectly good downtown.
Downtown Austin is different. It doesn’t seem as crowded. I haven’t been that scared of the one way streets in Austin like I am in Houston. The buildings aren’t as tall, so they don’t block the sun as much. I love downtown Austin. :)
I’m considering downtown Austin to be bordered by Lamar to the west, MLK to the north, I-35 to the east and the Colorado River to the south.over 6 years ago
