A review of this place
This used to be the center of activity in the city during the day (then it would move to 6th street at night) from the 60s through the mid-90s. There were lots of students, punks, hippies, weirdos, teenagers, street musicians, and regular people hanging around together all day. In the 90s, businesses on this street decided to crack down on all of the loitering and had the cops harass everyone, until it died. Now this is just a shopping zone and ironically, now that the street life is gone, those businesses that clamped down are out of business, as the Drag is no longer a destination.

A review of this place: Not as eclectic as it used to be
The Drag is a stretch along Guadalupe Street that borders on The University of Texas. I used to eat lunch there a lot when I worked and went to school at U.T. It used to have a lot of local establishments, but it’s been taken over by some national chains. I remember when The Gap moved in. There used to be a local record store on one corner that I shopped at, but now it’s a Baja Fresh. Ho hum.
