Why I recommend this place to locals
The Woolworth building has outlived its namesake. It’s still a functioning office building—NYU teaches classes there. With heightened security downtown, don’t expect to go wander around, but I was able to tour the gorgeously ornate gothic lobby by just asking the guard if I could peek in and showing ID.
