A review of this place
i was initially put off by the modern, not-very-japanese aesthetic but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. sure, it’s not exactly traditional japanese but they do a good job with their tempura udon, which is saying something.
in fact, i have yet to partake of the sushi since i can’t help but order the udon (it helps if you ask for the tempura on the side).
& if you have at least 4 people, i highly recommend the improbable sounding “chocolate calzone”. makes no sense @ a japanese restaurant but hell, it’s divine.

Oh yumminess
Oh yum, I like just thinking about this place. I eat here as often as I can! Both chefs are these stern looking Japanese fellows with some hefty certifications on the wall. The Decor is clean and modern with a well laid out interior and clever use of the accent wall and light to create the feel of space.
I have yet to have anything here that wasn’t fantastic. Not just good, fantastic. I recommend trying the Seaweed Salad. It has a wonderful texture and sesame flavor and surely must be ridiculously good for you. The Tuna Poke is don’t-talk-to-me-right-now good, and the buttery texture of the unagi is also not to be missed.
I recommend reservations on the weekend and to try one of the many types of sake. The sake is served in funky pottery made for the restaurant and these tiny tiny cups.
