El Museo Del Barrio

While this museum is relatively small, it has some really interesting stuff here. Of the modern art in New York, this kind of stuff is my favourite, when it is connected to culture, it is often more personal and tells a story, instead of just aiming to shock.

I also saw some music that they put on outside, and ate a quesadilla at the stall set up next to the music – both fantastic, with an alive atmosphere.

edit: p.s. one of the security guards inside was eager to point out that if you walk right up to the back wall, there is a hidden exhibit that you can see. It was this corridor full of books with movies projected onto them. was a nice surprise, and I really appreciated how much he seemed to care that I see it.
