Big Bone Lick State Park

In addition to having a naughty name, this place is actually has some pretty nice campground facilities.

Within a few miles of this northern Kentucky state park lies the equally-amusingly-named crossroad community of Beaver Lick.

But hey, not all the fun is in Kentucky! Nearby Indiana is home to French Lick (which is in turn home to basketball player Larry Bird). Over in Missouri you’ll find Knob Lick, while the charmingly named town of Lickinghole is located in Virginia.

So far, I have visited French Lick and Big Bone Lick. I hope eventually to score a Licking Grand Slam by hitting the others.
