Slatington

I grew up in Slatington, PA and it was a great place to do just that. Not a lot going on there as an adult, which for me is OK, because I only go back to visit family. I went back for Thanksgiving 2005 and spent time with my aunts, uncles, cousins. Revisiting the town itself was eye-opening. I never really appreciated the Victorian architecture that was prominent from when the town was a leader for slate mining until the mid-1900’s when the use of slate throughout the country declined.

Great sleepy Northern town for an afternoon visit.
