Hometown

What makes you proud of your hometown?

In the past few weeks of touring 43Places, I’ve discovered that most people are really proud of their hometown – wherever it is in the world. That got me thinking about the qualities a community should have to make it a great place to live, work and play in and to visit.

A few “quality of life” characteristics that come to mind are: friendly people, parks and recreation, good shopping, arts and culture, flowers / plants and trees, respect for the environment, natural geography, architecture, traditions / history, public transit …
